Printer problems in Adobe CS3
Applications on Intel-based Macintosh

Issue:

When attempting to print the printer does not work or some printer specific options are not available. "The options are un selectable as seen by the options text having a strike through it"

Reason:

Older printer drivers written for Macintosh PowerPC processors do not work natively on newer, Intel-based Macintosh systems.

Solution:

Run CS3 Application in Rosetta mode.

  1. Navigate to the application file in Applications.
  2. Hold down the Control key and click the file; from the menu, select Get Info.
  3. Under General, turn on the option "Open using Rosetta."

If you found this helpful you should also check out the CS3 Security Alert.

User, n. The word computer professionals use when they mean "idiot."
